During assignments or examinations, you may experience stress, anxiety and tension. No matter what the cause may be, stress floods your body with hormones. Your heart pounds, your breathing speeds up, and your muscles tense. This "stress response" is a normal reaction to threatening situations which originated in our prehistory to help us survive threats. Today, we sometimes face challenging situations in daily life that can set off this stress response. We can't avoid all sources of stress in our lives, nor would we want to. But we can develop healthier ways of responding to them. One way is to train the “relaxation response”, so we can relax our mind and body when needed.
In this workshop you will learn breathing techniques, mindfulness exercises and a technique in which we will use all our senses to calm our body and mind. These techniques will help you relieve the stress response, cope with anxiety and will help you sleep.
Important: it is recommended to bring a yoga mat to the workshop! Sign up here.
