Study grant advance

The start of the academic year is a difficult time financially; you have lots of expenses but your grant from the Flemish Government hasn’t yet reached your account. In that case you can ask STUVO for an advance on your study grant. The Flemish Government’s school and study grants department will deduct the advance from your grant. The remainder of your study grant will be paid into your account.

STUVO grant

A STUVO grant is a form of study finance which does not need to be repaid. It can be paid out by our social service after consideration of your social and financial circumstances.

Interest-free student loan for study costs

Under some circumstances, you can receive an interest-free student loan from STUVO's social service. We offer several possibilies:

• a short-term loan that must be repaid during the academic year in which it is applied for,
• and a long-term loan that only needs to be repaid when you end or complete your current studies.

Borrow a laptop

You can go to our social service to borrow a laptop free of charge during the entire academic year. You can submit a new application every academic year. We check per academic year whether you meet the conditions.

A student loan is always interest-free provided that you stick to the agreed repayment terms. Repayment is in accordance with the agreement.
